The Chinese Art Council brings together individuals who are passionate in learning more about Chinese Art and fostering closer engagement with the Norton’s extraordinary Collection.  

At its heart, Chinese Art Council is driven by the enthusiasm, vision, and leadership of its supporters, whose commitment safeguards the Norton’s Chinese Art collection for the enjoyment and educational enrichment of future generations.  

Chinese Art Council benefits directly from the guidance of Laurie Barnes, Elizabeth B. McGraw Senior Curator of Chinese Art. Participation in the Council is made possible with an annual gift of $1,500 (fully tax-deductible), which provides essential support to the Museum’s acquisition efforts and Chinese Art program each year. 

In recognition of this generosity, the Norton is pleased to offer Chinese Art Council supporters an exclusive annual slate of enriching art opportunities, including private collection visits, lectures and conversations with artists and leading art world scholars, social gatherings with likeminded enthusiasts and those eager to learn more about Chinese Art, and more. 

The opportunity to participate in the Norton’s Curatorial Councils is exclusive to Norton Circle and Chairman’s Circle Members and the Board of Trustees. Council support is made possible above and beyond annual Museum membership. A Norton Circle-level Museum membership ($2,500+) is required to join Curatorial Councils at the Norton.
