Program Details

The Photography Council brings together individuals who are passionate about lens-based art in order to foster closer engagement with the Norton’s extraordinary collection.

The Photography Council is driven by the enthusiasm, vision, and leadership of its supporters, whose commitment safeguards the Museum’s Photography and lens-based art Collection for the enjoyment and enrichment for generations to come.

The Photography Council benefits directly from the guidance of Lauren Richman, Ph.D., William and Sarah Ross Soter Curator of Photography. Participation in the Photography Council is made possible with an annual gift of $10,000 (fully tax-deductible), which provides essential support to the Museum’s acquisition efforts and Photography program each year.

In recognition of this generosity, the Norton is pleased to offer Photography Council supporters with an exclusive annual slate of enriching art opportunities, including private collection visits, lectures and conversations with artists and leading art world scholars, social gatherings with likeminded enthusiasts and those eager to learn more about Photography, and more.

The opportunity to participate in the Norton’s Curatorial Councils is exclusive to Norton Circle and Chairman’s Circle Members and the Board of Trustees. Council support is made possible above and beyond annual Museum membership. A Norton Circle-level Museum membership ($2,500+) is required to join Curatorial Councils at the Norton.
