Shine & Tell: Faces, Feelings, and Stories

Saturdays, April 4, 11, 18, 25
11 AM – 12:20 PM OR 1 – 2:20 PM

See how artists bring people to life! Families will explore portraits and figurative works that show emotion, personality, and connection, then make your own expressive art to share your story, your feelings, and what makes you shine. Children ages 5–12 and their grown-ups enjoy a 15-minute spotlight tour followed by a hands-on workshop.

This is a FREE program.



Craft, Culture, and Design

Saturday, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 (Registration available April 15)
11 AM – 12:20 PM or 1 – 2:20 PM

Explore pattern and storytelling through works from our Asian art collection or That’s Entertainment: Japanese Prints and the Art of Leisure. Families will discover how artists capture daily life through line and design, then create their own artwork in the studio. Children ages 5–12 and their grown-ups enjoy a 15-minute spotlight tour followed by a hands-on workshop.

Pre-Registered Guests

  • Guests are asked to arrive 10–15 minutes early for check-in.
  • Guests must check in with the Museum Educator by 11:15 am for the morning session or 1:15 pm for the afternoon session.
  • Anyone arriving after these cutoff times forfeits their spot, which will then be released to walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis.

Walk-Ins

  • Walk-ins may be admitted starting at 11:15 am and 1:15 pm, depending on remaining capacity. Space is not guaranteed.
  • Once the group departs the Great Hall to begin the session, no additional participants may join, whether pre-registered or walk-in.
