Join us as we celebrate the rich cultural traditions, stories, and symbols of Latin artists. Families will explore works in the Norton’s Collection that highlight Latin American heritage, then create their own inspired artwork, like papel picado, tile patterns, or cultural portraits. It’s a joyful celebration of creativity, community, and cultural pride. Children ages 5 – 12, and their accompanying grown-ups, participate in a 15-minute spotlight tour, followed by a related art workshop.

In her paintings, Hughes invites viewers to enter the psychological complexity of her inner world, crafting kaleidoscopic visions of a constantly evolving environment. The exhibition features a selection of her earlier works spanning the past two decades, recent paintings, and new ceramic works created during her residency at the Norton.

Exploring Living Landscapes

Saturday, November 1, 8, 15, 22
11 AM – 12:20 PM OR 1 – 2:20 PM

Inspired by the beauty of the natural world — both real and imagined — families will explore expressive landscapes and vibrant ecosystems, with a special focus on the unique plants and wildlife found in Florida. Then, create your own colorful environment filled with plants, creatures, and wild forms that celebrate your love of nature and creativity. Children ages 5 – 12, and their accompanying grown-ups, participate in a 15-minute spotlight tour, followed by a related art workshop.

This is a FREE program.



Space is limited; online registration required. Walk-ins welcome if tickets remain on the day of the program. Registration opens one month in advance.
